About Me

I am a Vassar graduate with a BA in Applied Mathematics. I am currently pursuing a BE and MEng in Mechanical Engineering at Dartmouth. I’m interested in fluid mechanics and control theory, especially when paired with numerical methods to explore nonlinear systems.

My current research at Dartmouth’s Ice Fluid Dynamics Lab models permafrost dynamics. This model uses the finite volume method to solve the coupled PDEs, which keep track of the state of permafrost, including temperature and phase composition. Incorporating soil composition improves the model’s predictions as global warming raises atmospheric and ocean temperatures.

I am also conducting research with Professor Andy Borum at Vassar, where we’ve been modeling collective motion of agents from an optimal control framework. Specifically, we look at agents restricted to 2D motion, and how optimality can be concluded from the trajectory’s inflection points and initial energy.

Outside of the classroom and academics, I enjoy being active by playing racquet sports, swimming, and hiking. I also take lots of photos, especially of cool landscapes or food!
